Bri McKay is an emerging independent Alt-Pop singer/songwriter from Dallas, Texas. She began her formal musical training at just 9 years old, studying a broad range of styles from Rock to Gospel. In 2012 she formed her first band “Night” and began writing her own material. The short-lived group ‘Current Waves’ followed. Then in 2019, Bri set out on a solo career.
Since her professional solo recording debut last year with the song “Hurt So Good,” Bri MacKay has released 4 singles. Each new track explores a different sound, from upbeat rhythmic grooves to acoustic Dark Pop meditations. The talented young artist list the legends of modern Pop music like Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift and Prince as primary inspirations. Like her idols, Bri matches a powerful and confident vocal delivery with an innate Pop sensibility.
“No Words” is the latest single from Bri McKay, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 9, 2021. On the new track she has adopted a classic Synth-Pop vibe. A retro drum machine beat carries a mix of percussive arpeggios and ambient analog synths. Over that 80’s inspired New Wave groove, the singer tells a tale of the excitement, confusion and uncertainty inherent to new love. Expertly executed multipart harmonies accompany the singer as she delivers her soulful lead vocal.
