3STR is a singer, songwriter and EDM producer based in San Diego, California. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, in the ten years since she started making music, her sound has evolved from acoustic Indie Pop to a Progressive House and downtempo EDM vibe. Regardless of genre, in her songs the proud LGBTQ+ artist tells personal tales with universally relatable themes of love, heartbreak and redemption.
“Stars” is the latest single from 3STR, released worldwide to all major streaming services on July 29, 2021. Written, recorded and performed by 3STR, the track was co-produced with Createk of Hannover, Germany and mixed by Peter Duff. It is a cool downtempo EDM love song with a healthy dose of spacey psychedelia.
The track opens on an airy scene of ambient synths and modulated vocal samples. As the bass and drums gradually bring the beat into focus, 3STR enters the mix with a first person narrative of the confusion, excitement and insecurity inherent to new love. As the song progresses it introduces elements of Progessive House, Deep House and Pop to create an ethereal and melodic sound.
