We first heard from Morris Roe a few weeks ago upon the release of his single “Long Gone.” That track introduced readers of The Static Dive to a multi-talented singer, songwriter and guitarist from Amsterdam, Netherlands. With a genre-bending style and expert musicianship, Roe has produced a diverse catalog of contemporary Pop music since his 2019 solo debut.
“Move it On” is the latest single from Morris Roe, dropped worldwide to all major streaming services on October 22, 2021. He is releasing the track as a sequel to “Long Gone,” a song that took a critical look at a relationship that recently ended. On “Move it On,” the singer looks at the aftermath of the failed affair and realizes that the other party is stuck in the past and unable to move on.
This song is a way of letting them know, please move on for the sake of us but also for the sake of yourself. You should grow from the past and become someone better, someone new.
Morris Roe
Musically, “Move it On” is an upbeat bit of Lo-Fi Indie with a great 60’s-style Pop groove. Doo-wop backing vocals ride that funky rhythm as Morris Roe delivers a critical narrative that belies the cheery vibe of the tune. It’s a cool juxtaposition. Roe drops tasteful guitar licks throughout the track as well as a nice, Bluesy solo in the bridge.
