“Emotional Treason” is the latest single from Doug Cash. Originally released in 2009 on his “Hodgepodge” album, the song has earned hundreds of thousands of spins over the years on platforms like Reverbnation and Spotify. Cash recently re-released the song to YouTube with a brand new video on June 3, 2021.
The track features Doug Cash alone with his acoustic guitar for an intimate and unadorned performance. As he strums a bit of Jazz-infused Folk, the singer delivers a commentary on personal responsibility and self-love. With a soulful tone he sings of the ’emotional treason’ we commit upon ourselves by choosing to be unhappy. It is an insightful narrative set to a smooth, Pop/Folk tune.
