Nick Gertsson is a guitarist’s guitarist. A virtuoso in the truest sense of the word, the Swedish musician has performed all over the world with some of the biggest names in Rock and Classical music. Formerly of the bands V.O.X (Voices of Extreme) and Ritual Factory, Nick is now based in Hawaii and plays guitar for the bands ‘Lucie & The Perfect Wave’ and ‘Master of Oz.’
In August, 2021 Nick Gertsson made his solo debut with the single “Give it Time,” an instrumental Prog-Rock ballad. The song was the first glimpse at his debut solo EP “Beyond Fear is Beauty,” due for international release on November 22, 2021.
“Rising” is the latest single from Nick Gertsson, released worldwide to all major streaming services on October 22, 2021. On the new track we find Nick alone with his acoustic guitar. Accompanied only by the occasional and subtle addition of ambient synths and strings, Gertsson delivers a 6:22 international tour of his instrument.
Throughout the piece, Nick Gertsson slides seamlessly through transitions in time signature, tempo and genre. Classical runs meet Spanish guitar riffs while Blues bends lead into Art-Rock phrases. Then at the 4:30 mark, the track kicks into fabulous Celtic romp. Through every stylistic turn, Nick executes with precision and soul without ever sacrificing one for the other.
