J-Vance’s New Tales Of Halloweens Past

j-vance

J-Vance is the professional name of singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer Jerry V Howard. From 1985 through 1998 the Chattanooga-based musician was active in the Middle Tennessee music scene (Murfreesboro/Nashville). Throughout that time he performed live and recorded with a number of different bands and collaborators.

In the years since, Howard struggled with personal and mental health issues, driven primarily by ADHD. In 2020 he finally found a treatment that worked. After a 23 year hiatus he returned to the music world with his new solo project J-Vance. He is introducing the new persona with a series of singles that lean in on his musical roots.

“Halloween Party” is the latest single from J-Vance, released worldwide to all major streaming services on October 1, 2021. With its Funk bass line, analog synths and New Wave guitar tone the track recalls the avant-garde sounds of classic 80’s Alternative Pop/Rock pioneers like Oingo Boingo and Devo. As that groove rolls on, with a rhythmic delivery and conversational tone Jerry recounts various real-life tales of Halloween party-goers from his own life.
