Prtty Ridiculous is the professional name of guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer Stone Panunzio. Originally from the East Coast and now based in Los Angeles, the Berklee College of Music graduate is known on both coasts for his work as the guitarist in the band Lithic. In 2021 the multi-talented artist is making his solo debut.
“Rheumy ” is the brand new single and video from Prtty Ridiculous, released worldwide to all major streaming services on October 22, 2021. With a wild mix of electronic and organic instrumentation, Stone delivers a genre-defying rocker. A Grungy guitar riff delivers the song’s funky hook as it rides the pounding kick drum of a hybrid Rock/Glitch beat. Ambient synths and syncopated percussion paint the edges of the mix to give the track a cool psychedelic vibe.
Panunzio delivers a powerful lead vocal as he tries to connect with an elusive and complicated friend, “Dancing like a fancy female Chupacabra.” He tells a lyrically colorful tale with shades of substance abuse and mental illness. Acoustic and electric guitars meet staccato strings and EDM production techniques. Layers of multi-part vocal harmonies add an Art-Rock complexity to the track, culminating in an epic wall of sound in the bridge.
