OFFICIAL EXCL is a Pop/Hip-hop group formed by a duo of emerging TikTok stars. Fantasy and White Rose are the two person team behind the popular TikTok account official_excl. After dancing and singing to other artist’s music on the popular video platform, they decided to direct their combined creative energies into creating music of their own. A band was born.
“Runaway” is the debut single from OFFICIAL EXCL, released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 5, 2021. The track opens on a series of rhythmic synth arpeggios. A male vocalist enters the mix, riffing on the song’s title. Once the beat drops the tune kicks into an upbeat 80’s-style Synth Pop groove.
The male singer delivers the first verse. He fantasizes about escaping as he sings, “Everything in this life just brings me down.” In the bridge, Fantasy and White Rose drop their bars. Each rapper takes a turn on the mic for an old-school freestyle rap. They rhyme about the pressures of life as they struggle to make their way in the world.
