Patrick Tabaks is a 17 year-old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist musician who made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the 9 song collection “Lost My Mind.” The project comes after years of training. By the time he was just 6 years old Patrick was studying Classical, Jazz and Opera. By the time he was 11 he was touring the world with the Latvian National Opera.
Written and recorded throughout 2020, the album is a personal account from a talented young artist finding his way in an ever changing world. Patrick says, “…a lot of the songs are kind of about, I wouldn’t like to say philosophical questions, but questions you don’t really want to think about daily. But those questions stay in your head.”
The title track of “Lost My Mind” is a soulful duet about the sweet confusion of young love. Patrick Tabaks opens the song with a solo acoustic guitar and vocal. As the song progresses, his smooth vocal is met with some beautiful multipart harmonies. By the second verse, bass and drums enter the mix and guest vocalist Elizabeth Luka takes the mic and skillfully navigates us through this sweet and melancholy Alt-Pop love song.
