
Jeff Lake is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from New York City. Both as a solo artist and with his band Cellophane Flowers, the genre-bending musician has connected fans worldwide with his unique blend of Rock, Folk and Country music. The band’s 2020 Beatles cover album “Penny Lane” was a hit and continues to pull in tens of thousands of listeners monthly.
In addition to his success as a performer and band leader, Jeff Lake is an accomplished songwriter. He has written music for Universal Greece recording artist Michalis, the theme song for CBS’s Latin American Idol spinoff show, the “Nueva Estrella Awards”, as well as recent collaborations with up & coming hip hop artist, Seon.
“Field of Grass” is the new solo EP from Jeff Lake, released worldwide to all major streaming services on August 20, 2021. The record is a 5 song collection of acoustic covers and originals exploring a broad spectrum of theme and emotion. The record opens on its current single the “Better Times Will Come,” a song of hope in the era of COVID by legendary songwriter Janis Ian. After a beautiful acapella Gospel intro, Lake take the song into an upbeat Bluegrass groove.
The mood shifts to an introspective melancholy on the Classic Rock-tinged Jeff Lake original title track. From there the singer mixes genres with his interpretations of songs by artists like The Beatles and Paul McCartney. It’s a great listen, with stellar performances throughout.
