Yusuf Othman is an emerging singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Denmark. After working for years behind the scenes as a songwriter and producer for other artists, he is making his solo professional recording debut.
“Superfiction” is the debut single from Yusuf Othman, released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 8, 2021. At the encouragement of his friends and fellow musicians he is stepping out from behind the board and into the spotlight for the first time in his 14 years music career. A truly solo effort, the multi-talented artist wrote, recorded and performed every note on the track himself.
Opening on a classic R&B vibe, Yusuf Othman drops a soulful verse over a smooth electric piano chord progression. Soon the chorus drops and the song kicks into a nice groove with a Hip-hop beat and a nice guitar and analog synth funk. The track slides between those two moods as the singer delivers a scathing takedown of his ex. Lush multi-part vocal harmonies and ambient synths expand the horizon until some subtle acoustic piano chords quietly bring the track to a close.
