Deadphonecalls is the professional name of singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer Max Cossu. He creates Alternative Rock with complex and esoteric themes and a sound inspired by the genre’s 80’s pioneers.
After years of playing drums in bands across Italy and the Czech Republic, Max launched the project in 2014 with the single “Blink: The Baby is Crying” and followed in 2015 with his debut EP “Calls to the Dead Phone.” The band’s name was inspired by the supernatural audio phenomenon in which living people receive phone calls from the dead.
“Revolution Day ” is the latest single and video from Deadphonecalls, released worldwide via YouTube on November 21, 2021. With a fist pumping-beat, minor-key guitars and New Wave synths, the track brings to mind the sound of early 80’s DarkWave legends like Killing Joke, Joy Division and The Cure.
Lyrically the track mixes Sci-fi imagery with an emotional call on this classic Alternative Rock fight song. Similarly the video instersperses scenes from a cybernetic world with live shots of Max rocking out in Prague’s Strahov district. The 3D cyber models actually recreate Strahov’s main square. It’s a cool scene.
