Rocky Rose’s Chill SoCal Cruising Fantasy

rocky rose

Rocky Rose is the new songwriting alter-ego of acclaimed film composer and multi-instrumentalist producer Allison Piccioni. With an undergraduate degree from Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music and a Masters from London’s Royal College of Music, the multifaceted artist has worked in nearly every arena of the entertainment industry.

Piccioni has composed music for high-profile TV and film productions like “This Changes Everything” (NetFlix), “Thank You For Your Service” (film), “Graceland” (USA Network), “White Collar” (USA Network) and more. She has worked as an actor, a voiceover artist and in academia as a Professor of Orchestration.

“Let’s Ride” is the debut single and video from Rocky Rose, released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 19, 2021. The track opens on a mix of percussive synth arpeggios, timbales and congas for a cool syncopated Latin groove. A chilled rolling bassline keeps the wheels turning as Rocky Rose suggestively commands, “Get in my car, let’s ride.”

In the video, the singer’s typical suburban life is magically transformed by the groove into a SoCal fantasy. As she drives, we imagine cruising the PCH in her classic Corvette with the top down and a Pacific breeze at our backs. A mix of organic and electronic instrumentation provides the soundtrack, including a nice Santana-esque guitar solo. By the end of the clip Rocky Rose parks in the Hollywood Hills and meets her lucky travel companion, played by Allison’s real-life husband musician Mike Clairmont. The two drive off into the sunset together.
