Judy is the professional name of singer, songwriter and guitarist Julie Dreano. A proud native and resident of Haute-Savoie in Bernex, France, the young artist first gained notice online with her cover version of Scottish singer Paolo Nutini’s “Candy.” A producer with the French label Atypique Musique noticed her talent and soon she had a record deal.
In July, Judy made her professional solo recording debut with an official release of the “Candy” video. As that song introduced her to a larger audience she worked on her own material. Now the singer has released her first original composition.
“To The Moon ” is the brand new single and video from Judy, released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 20, 2021. The song opens with a solo tremolo guitar playing the song’s central melodic theme. A banjo joins in as Judy and her acoustic guitar enter the mix. With a sultry and sleepy tone reminiscent of the great Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star) she sings a smoky and poetic love song. The track meets her classic cinematic voice with a bluesy and rustic Spaghetti Western vibe. The song simmers with an American Western energy delivered with a distinctly European style.
