Yung MJT is the professional name of emerging Hip-hop artist Mieco Townsend. The Detroit native fell in love with music at an early age. His family didn’t have much as he was growing up and they moved around a lot. Music became the solace and purpose he was looking for.
Since releasing his debut single “Bases Loaded” in 2018, Yung MJT has dropped a steady stream of new material including 2 EPs and a half dozen singles. With an old school emcee style but a modern flow he drops lyrical rhymes over Lo-fi and Trap beats.
“Gracious Through it All” is the latest single from Yung MJT, released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 29, 2021. The track opens with a progression of staccato electronic arpeggios. Mieco enters the mix riding a hard Trap beat. A subterranean 808 bass rumbles and the arpeggios continue as the rapper delivers a great freestyle rap. Lyrically he alternates between classic Hip-hop posturing and an old school diss track.
