Mathew Sisko is an up and coming singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from a small town in the Florida keys. Although he has been writing his own material for about seven years, the independent rocker just made his professional debut a few weeks ago with the release of the Lo-fi acoustic instrumental “Fairwell.”
“I Don’t Care” is the latest single from Mathew Sisko, released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 28, 2021. On the new song he’s put the flat top away and plugged in. A grungy guitar introduces the track. Soon bass and drums enter the mix and the song kicks into a classic garage rocker.
Sisko cites seminal groups such as Nirvana, The Beatles and The Stooges as inspiration for his music. We can hear their influence here, particularly the latter as Mathew Sisko creates a sound that lands somewhere between Iggy’s old band and the influential punk band Social Distortion. Lyrically the singer delivers a manifesto on being fed up and wanting to be left alone. The song is a great mix of a modern Indie Rock aesthetic and classic DIY Punk vibe.
