Johnson Livingstone’s Funky Country Zen

Nashville-based singer/songwriter Johnson Livingstone has lived many lives, in different cities with different names. Originally from Detroit, for years he worked in bands all across the United States’ Mid-Atlantic Coast. Eventually he found himself in Music City with an entirely new identity.

Recently, after an emotionally and spiritually trying time, the singer had an epiphany. He found a path and purpose that led him to change his name and move to Nashville to make music in line with his new spiritual awakening. He made his debut as Johnson Livingstone in 2020 with the single “You Can Love More Than One.”

“Angels Dancin’ on the Head of a Pin” is the latest single from Johnson Livingstone, released worldwide to all major streaming services on October 25, 2021. The track opens on a Country shuffle as an acoustic and an electric guitar trade riffs. A funky bass and drum groove give the song a classic railroad rhythm.

Johnson Livingstone enters the mix with a bit of Country Zen wisdom. The groove picks up some heat as the singer reminds us of the folly of worry. In the chorus, the track takes a cool stylistic turn. With its George Harrison slide guitar and groovy Disco bass, the sound lands somewhere between The Beatles and ABBA.  It’s a lot of fun.
