Knux is the professional name of independent music composer and producer Chad Jackson (aka Deez Knux, aka Knux Beats). The Tampa, Florida based artist made his professional solo recording debut in 2019. Since then, the prolific creator has produced a sizable volume of work. In just over two years Jackson has released three full length albums, a half dozen singles and an EP.
With a laid-back vibe, Knux creates soulful and organic Hip-hop instrumentals. His sound is equally influenced by Hip-hop, Jazz and Soul music. It brings to mind the work of great downtempo and Trip-hop artists like Thievery Corporation, DJ Shadow and Nightmares on Wax. An avid vinyl collector and break dancer, Chad is all about the old-school. As a result he feeds his beats plenty of vintage cool.
“Be Water” is the latest single from Knux, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 3, 2021. A soulful vocal sample floats in the periphery as mellow electric piano chords set a chill mood. The track rides on a downbeat Chill-hop breakbeat groove. Ambient and melodic keys appear on the horizon as a cool electric bass adds a bit of Funk.
