SkyRock Project is the new musical collaboration of three hot LA producers who have come together to create new Pop, R&B, House Music, and Hip-hop hits. The group consists of Jason Jump, Dr.E. (aka Dre The Professor), and DJ MD. Each brings his own unique perspective to the sound. Since making their debut in 2020, the group has produced ten singles.
Their songs have ranged in style from Pop ballads to club bangers. In most cases, the team of producers recruits female vocalists to record the songs. In the relatively short time the team has been active, their music has connected with hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide. Their two most recent tracks are poised to be their most successful yet.
“I Don’t Like You” was released worldwide to all major streaming services on October 29, 2021. The track rides on a slow and steady classic 70’s Disco groove, with straight-forward backbeat rhythm and smooth electric bass Funk. Meanwhile a female lead vocalist with strong ‘you can’t sit with us’ teenage high school girl energy sings, “I wish I had hair like you, so pretty, so soft so new. I don’t like you.”
“Overprotected,” SkyRock Project’s version of Britney Spears’ 2001 Pop classic, dropped everywhere November 26, 2021. From the first strum of the acoustic guitar it is clear that the team has replaced the original’s late 90’s Electro-Pop with a smooth new Latin rhythm. A mellow funk bass grooves with the song’s syncopated electronic and organic percussion as a female vocalist delivers a sweet and soulful performance on this really refreshing take on a familiar tune.
