For nearly a decade the Kentucky native has been entertaining fans with his unique mix of Rock and Soul. The track finds the singer alone with his acoustic guitar. Accompanied only by occasional percussion, he delivers his powerful testimony over a bluesy riff.
On one hand the song is a defiant declaration of independence. With the song’s titular lyric the singer speaks for all those oppressed around the world. However, the track also provides an inspirational message. Bryant encourages us to take life by the reins and live it, without fear. It’s a great soulful and stripped-down sound. There is also a nice 12-string acoustic guitar solo in the bridge.
