OneTo is a diversely talented independent artist from Canada. A producer, entrepreneur and activist, the Scarborough, Toronto rapper, singer and songwriter stays busy. He has worked in multiple genres including Hip-hop, Pop, Afrobeat and Dance music.
A remarkably prolific producer, OneTo has amassed a sizable volume of work in a relatively short period of time. He dropped his debut in 2019. Since then he has released dozens of tracks. In 2021 alone he released over thirty singles and three EPs.
“Judas” is the latest single from OneTo, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 22, 2021. Guest rapper BMO (Bad Man Original) joins him for a biting rap about a disloyal friend. They call out a traitor who is guilty of a long list of offenses.
OneTo recalls the loyalty he showed his former friend and then angrily sings, “this is how you pay me back?” He and BMO trade verses over a low and slow 808 beat. Deep bass hits ride a hard kick drum. With shades of both Pop and Trap music, percussive arpeggios spin on the periphery of the mix. An analog synth sets a mood with a dark minor-key chord progression.
