Sycamore Sound is the professional name of independent Alt-Hip-Hop/Electronic artist Connor McLeod. The Lake Tahoe, California producer made his professional solo recording debut in March of 2021 with the genre-bending Jazz-hop/Trap single “Immersion.” That song introduced an innovative and cerebral composer.
“(Non)Existence of Time” is the sophomore single from Sycamore Sound, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 20, 2021. McLeod’s instrumentals are fueled by his own philosophical views. He chooses his instruments and mixes his tunes with a specific vibe in mind. As it’s title suggests, the new track is inspired by our complex relationship with the abstract notion of time.
…when creating something that you love and have a passion for, time doesn’t exist. On the other hand its construct effects our daily lives and its linearity can be seen in living things
Connor McLeod (Sycamore Sound)
The sound of a ticking clock beats at the heart of this downtempo instrumental psychedelic groove. A deep analog synth bass rides a Lo-fi Hip-hop beat as organic and electronic samples and melodies paint the periphery. Connor combines elements of Hip-hop, Trip-hop and experimental Electronic music into a chill and meditative vibe. The real and the surreal come together for a cool hypnotic Funk.
