WNTR PPPR (Pronounced “Winter Pepper”) is the professional name of singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer Presley Miller. The Grapevine, Texas native launched the project in 2021. He debuted in June with the album “For My Family,” a collection of songs for and about the singer’s wife and three daughters.
The album introduced a multi-talented artist with a deep foundation in Classic and Psychedelic Rock. Presley explains that he was inspired to enter the independent music scene after years of obsessing over artists like Joe Cocker, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Seger, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, and Sublime. His music keeps one foot in that history and the other firmly placed in the modern Indie Rock aesthetic.
“Good Man” is the latest single from WNTR PPPR, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 16, 2021. The song is his first since “For My Family.” Lyrically, the track is an introspective meditation on success, virtue and what it means to be a man. Miller delivers his thoughtful self-examination over a soulful lo-fi vibe.
The track opens on a lonely electric piano setting a melancholy mood over a minimalist beat. Strings swell into the mix as the song progresses, accenting the song’s dramatic mood. Presley questions himself at first, and then those who judge him. As the final verse comes to a close the track explodes into a soaring, emotional Hendrix-inspired guitar solo.
