Tyson Leslie is a multi-instrumentalist Rock & Roll veteran who has performed with some of the biggest names in Metal, Country, Pop and countless other ensembles. The Kansas City/Nashville based musician currently tours as the keyboardist and tour manager for the 80s All Female hard rock band VIXEN.
Over the years Tyson has performed extensively for artists Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), Country music legend Tracy Lawrence, Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent Band), and many more. When not working as a stage and session player, he composes and produces his own solo material. For his latest track, the A-list musician called in some heavy-hitter friends for his Heavy Metal solo track.
“Burning Time” is the brand new single from Tyson Leslie, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 31, 2021. Written by Leslie and Queensryche’s Todd La Torre, the song is the product of five rockers who came together to make the most of the unexpected downtime caused by the pandemic lockdown. Joining Tyson and La Torre on the track are Roxy Petrucci (Vixen/Madam X), Jimi Bell (Autograph) and legendary bassist Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, Winery Dogs).
The song opens with big Prog Rock vibes as a ticking clock creates tension behind a narrator who predicts an unnamed forthcoming doom. Massive, cinematic guitar harmonies and some well placed shredding follow. Soon the beat drops and the track kicks into a classic up-tempo, melodic Hard Rock head banger. The band of superstar musicians show their stripes with stellar vocals, wailing guitars and an airtight rhythm section as they maneuver Heavy Rock drama, complex tempo shifts and plenty of smoking solos.
