Myles Maxwell is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer based in Hollywood, California. Before the genre-bending artist settled in SoCal, he made his way across the country from his Northeast roots and through the deep South. Born in Queens and raised there, on Long Island and in North Carolina, the young artist was exposed to American music in its many forms.
The lifelong musician found inspiration in the Hip-hop, Jazz, Rock, Folk and Country he heard along the way. In early 2021, Myles Maxwell made his professional solo recording debut with the single “Circles.” That track introduced a versatile artist who spins Rock, Hip-hop and Pop into a completely unique sound.
A three song EP and then a full length album followed. “Sorry, for Ghosting You” is the current single and lead track from Myles Maxwell’s latest record, the 7-songĀ “Definitely Not a Werewolf,” released worldwide to all major streaming services on November 12, 2021.
A reverb soaked downtempo beat opens the song. A mellow guitar and bass enter the mix as Myles tells a melancholy tale of an affair doomed from the start. It is a haunting sound as the song pairs soulful Pop vocals with an Indie Rock vibe which includes a healthy dose of Pavement-style experimental noise rock.
