Just Dave is the professional name of David Sotomayor, a fast emerging Pop, R&B and Hip-hop artist and producer from Altadena in Los Angeles County, California. The multi-talented musician previously recorded and performed as both “Dave Da Hustla” and “Dave & The Family Hustle.” Last year he launched a new project with a new moniker.
He debuted in May of 2021 with the single “I Salute You.” That track introduced a songwriter and producer with a versatile genre-bending style and a knack for smooth slow jam grooves. His sound mixes slow soul vibes with Hip-hop beats, R&B vocals and old-school inspirational rhymes. The track connected with fans worldwide. However, Just Dave’s follow-up song is his biggest hit yet.
“Let Me In” is the latest single and video from Just Dave, released worldwide to all major streaming services and YouTube in July, 2021. Swirling synth arpeggios open the track and paint the edges of the mix. Soon the beat drops on a downtempo Trap groove paired with Ambient Pop and R&B vibes. Just Dave and a soulful female vocalist trade verse, rapping and singing (respectively) a melancholy but ultimately hopeful song about lovers breaking through communication barriers.
