We first heard from Curtis Melton in March of last year upon the release of his album “Skywaves.” That record introduced readers of The Static Dive to an award-winning composer and educator from Las Vegas, Nevada who specializes in contemporary instrumental music. You can read the interview here. When not recording genre-bending music for film and television, Melton is the Director of Bands at Legacy High School in North Las Vegas, NV.
Before he began releasing his work commercially, Curtis was composing music for stage, screen and marching bands around the world. His music has won awards at film festivals from his hometown to halfway around the globe in Italy. “Skywaves” was a collection of some of the artist’s favorites as well as his most successful pieces. The record ranges from Ambient New Age to Modern Rock.
“Restless Twilight” is the latest single from Curtis Melton, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 19, 2021. Mixing elements of classic 80’s Pop and melodic Rock, the song is a smooth Synthwave throwback. Ambient analog synths open the track, setting an ethereal digital vibe. Soon an electric bass and drum machine groove enters the mix. From there, synthesized guitars and keys take turns riffing on the track’s main melodic theme.
