Corey Primus is a veteran Canadian singer/songwriter who started his musical journey in the “cold little northern town” of Prince George, British Columbia. Now based in Vancouver, over the years he has shared the stage with high profile artists like legendary Canadian rocker Burton Cummings and international recording artist Paul Janz.
With a Rock-infused Alternative Country sound and a Cowboy-philosopher style, Corey Primus has amassed an impressive catalog of work. Since 2014 he has produced more than a dozen singles, three full length albums and a 5 song EP. The prolific artist teamed up with his musician son O’Neil (Sasquatch Mind Control) for his latest album “Equilibrium.” The 12 song collection is a mix of brand new material and older unfinished songs now given new life.
“Slow and Steady” is the current single from “Equilibrium,” released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 3, 2021. The track rides on a Bluesy Americana acoustic guitar and bass groove. A gated snare drum provides a nice digital counterbalance to the tune’s rustic vibe. Meanwhile, Corey delivers a bit of Country wisdom about the value of slowing life down and looking around. As the track progresses, ambient synths expand the horizon and an electric guitar provides a nice dose of psychedelia as Primus riffs on the aphorism “slow and steady wins the race.”
