Kennedy Puckett is an emerging independent singer, songwriter and guitarist with an organic and bluesy vibe. At just 17 years-old, the talented young musician has already amassed an impressive musical catalog. In addition to his work with hometown Alt/Metal band ALIVE, he has released six original songs as a solo artist since his debut in 2021.
Recently Kennedy Puckett dropped his first music of the new year. “Tomorrow’s Roses/Glisten” is a double single of laid-back, Blues-infused Indie Rock love songs released worldwide to all major streaming services in January 28, 2022. It is a raw, soulful and organic sound. With elements of Alternative, Country and Americana, he sings sorrowful tales of love and longing.
“Tomorrow’s Roses” rides on a downtempo Southern Rock shuffle. As the bass and drums provide the groove, a Lo-fi ensemble of acoustic and electric guitars sets a melancholy scene. On the mic, Kennedy Puckett delivers a soulful tale of future regret. At times the singer’s Blues/Folk/Soul style brings to mind the great Ray LaMontagne.
“Glisten” opens on a rolling and rumbling Classic Rock bass line. Soon the beat drops and a the drums join with a web of guitars to create an upbeat Alt/Pop groove. Kennedy Puckett continues the genre-bending with oldies love song vocals and a hint of psychedelia. Lyrically, the track is a wistful and romantic look at the early days of young love.
