VII of Wands is the professional name of singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist musician Jesus “Jesse” Diaz. The project’s name was inspired by the tarot cards representing perseverance, self-defense, and defiance.
The California native launched his professional solo recording career in 2018 with the single “Jade.” However, he first discovered his natural musical aptitude ten years earlier, growing up as an introverted child in the central coastal city of Monterey. In the 4 years since his debut, the prolific 27 year-old artist has produced a string of singles, a full length album and an EP.
“Forgiveness” is a recent track from the VII of Wands EP “Bloom Moon Diary,” available worldwide on all major streaming services. A melodic finger picked acoustic guitar opens the track. Diaz enters the mix with a soft, whispered Pop tenor. Ethereal electric guitar arpeggios float on the periphery as the beat drops on a mellow Alternative Rock vibe. The track rides that chilled groove as Jesse sings of discarding regrets and embracing life.
