We first heard from Hannah Gold in September of last year upon the release of her debut single “Run Away.” That track introduced readers of The Static Dive to a multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer with a timeless, smooth R&B-infused Pop style.
Originally from Long Island, Hannah Gold eventually found her way to the West Coast where she attended and graduated from University of Southern California in Los Angeles. A lifelong musician, the multi-instrumentalist was influenced early on by a broad spectrum of music, from Gospel to Hip-hop. Her own music is a downtempo and soulful mix of R&B, Neo-Soul, retro Electro-Pop and Synthwave.
“They Always Come Back” is the latest single from Hannah Gold, released worldwide to all major streaming services on February 11, 2022. The track opens with percussive synth arpeggios riding a chilled out downtempo R&B/Trap groove. Jazzy guitar chords paint the edges as the singer enters the mix with smooth, whispered Pop/Soul tones. She warns listeners of the risks of rekindling a toxic romance over a cool slow jam vibe.
I want listeners to realize that they are strong enough to say no, let go, and move on.
