Into the Nothing is a new emerging Alternative Rock band from Southern Illinois making their debut in 2022. The project is actually the work of an otherwise anonymous solo artist who sings and plays all of the instruments. Citing influences like noughties Alternative heroes Breaking Benjamin and Modern Rock pioneers Starset, he creates emotional guitar-driven Indie Rock.
“Telepathik” is the debut single from Into the Nothing, released worldwide to all major streaming services on February 21, 2022. After a percussive intro the track lands on the heavy crunch of Metal power chords. The singer enters the mix with a subdued Emo narrative. Musically the track enters some grungy Nirvana terrain before it takes a more melodic Modern Rock turn in the chorus.
The tune takes a cool instrumental break in the bridge. After a tricking of Metal riffing a guitar solo emerges from a wall of guitar distortion and then recedes back into the abyss. It is an exercise of both power and restraint consistent with the feeling of anxious potential energy that bubbles just beneath the surface of the song.
