Natura is a genre-bending musical group who made their professional recording debut in 2021 with the EP “Buried Origins.” That record introduced a trio of musicians from various points across the United States with a unique sound that lands somewhere between Dark Pop, Synthwave and IDM. Since then, the prolific producers have dropped a total of eleven tracks across a handful of single and EP releases.
The band’s name directly references their commitment to making naturally and environmentally themed music. To that end, many of their records have nature-related titles (“Horizons,” “Morning Dawn”). On their latest release they take that organic vibe to the kitchen for the band’s first foray into Hip-Hop.
“In the Kitchen” is the latest single from Natura, released worldwide to all major streaming services on December 25, 2021. On the track the group is joined by guest emcee Slim Spitta. Pizzicato strings and ambient synths open the track. Soon a natural electric bass enters the mix and Slim steps to the mic. The beat drops on a groove that is one part Trap and one part Trip-hop as the rapper delivers a fun freestyle about cooking up some beats, served with a healthy dose of food and weed metaphors.
