Baby Blve (pronounced “Baby Blue”) is the professional name of emerging independent Hip-hop artist, Andrew Folmar. Born in the United States but raised in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, he moved back to the States to pursue a career in music. He landed in Atlanta, the cultural hub of all things Southern and Hip-hop.
In 2021 Baby Blve made his professional solo recording debut with the album “This Time of Year.” The eight song collection introduced a versatile emcee and singer with a broad range of style, from sad and introspective melodic songs to upbeat upbeat manic club bangers. Folmar often uses his music to reflect his own struggles with bipolar disorder.
“King” is the latest single from Baby Blve. His first release of the new year, the song dropped worldwide to all major streaming services on February 25, 2022. Dark, minor-key Alternative Rock guitars introduce the song. Blve steps to the mic and the beat drops on a low and slow Trap groove. The track rolls on a subdued Emo vibe as the singer delivers a smooth melodic rhyme that is equal parts confessional rap and Hip-hop posturing. It’s a cool and introspective mood.
