Premium Jae is a fast emerging independent Hip-hop artist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the single “Designer Drip.” That record introduced a skilled emcee from Missouri with a lyrical style and a taste for hard Trap beats. Since then the prolific rapper has released three singles and the full length album “A Diamond in the Rough.”
With a laid-back and confident flow, Premium Jae tells his tales of his life, growing up in the neighborhood and grinding to rise above. His songs cover common Hip-hop themes of money, women, cars and clothes. However, he takes it a step further by using his success story to motivate others. His latest song puts that motivational theme front and center.
“Competition” is the brand new single from Premium Jae, released worldwide to all major streaming services on February 25, 2022. The track opens on a series of minor-key piano arpeggios before the beat drops on downtempo Trap and synth bass groove. The rapper steps to the mic and tells his tale of grinding and providing for his family. However, he’s not just showing off when he rhymes about buying his first house at 19. Throughout the track he encourages us to get up and get moving toward our own goals.
