Kaiyung is a fast emerging independent rapper from New Orleans making waves in the Hip-hop scene. She made her debut in 2020 with the five song EP “Da Real Kaiyung.” That record introduced a skilled emcee with a melodic, lyrical style and a taste for laid-back Trap beats.
Since then, the prolific artist has dropped a total of three singles, an EP and the 2021 full length album “Way Too Many Feels.” In that time her music has connected with fans around the world. Hits like “Black Sheep” have racked up tens of thousands of spins across multiple platforms.
“Keep Me Down” is the latest single and video from Kaiyung, released worldwide to all major streaming services on February 19, 2022. A jazzy guitar, bass and piano trio opens the track before the beat drops on a chilled out downtempo Trap groove. Electronic percussion, ambient synths and ethereal backing vocals paint the edges of the mix. Kaiyung steps to the mic and alternates between a rapid-fire hard rap in the verse and a melodic vocal in the chorus as she calls out her haters.
