Mr.V.Banks – Too Many Time (Freestyle)

Mr.V.Banks is a veteran Hip-hop artist and entrepreneur enjoying  a successful new phase of his career as a solo act. He got his start back in 1999. He and his childhood friends formed the group called Ella Mean G’z. The young emcee was inspired by Texas Hip-hop legends like DJ Screw, Fat Pat, Slim Thug, Geto Boys and Pimp C.

In college Mr.V.Banks hooked up with Houston producer B.G.P and released a string of records as a member of Blow Tima Entertainment. However, throughout his early career the rapper was also running hustles on the streets. The law caught up with him in 2010 and he spent a year with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

When he got out in 2011, Mr.V.Banks recommitted himself to music. He and his brother launched the record label ‘High Rolling Productions’ and its publishing wing, ‘Nothing Except Money Management, LLC.’ Over the past two years the artist hit his stride and has released a steady string of successful singles, with tracks like “Fabulous” and “Enough is Enough” connecting with tens of thousands of Hip-hop fans worldwide.

“Too Many Times (Freestyle) is the latest single and first new music of 2022 from Mr.V.Banks, released worldwide to all major streaming services on January 8, 2022. Ambient synths and piano arpeggios set a dramatic mood before the beat drops on a slow and low Trap groove. Banks enters the mix with a melodic freestyle rap about his own struggles.

In a loose, stream of consciousness narrative he raps about the mistakes he’s made, their consequences and his renewed commitment to the grind. Trippy vocal samples, percussion and keys paint the edges of the mix for a dreamy, psychedelic feel. It’s a cool mellow vibe, with a message.

We all get lost on the road to become who we are supposed to be. Too many times we get lost trying to be something we’re not supposed to be.
