We first heard from Anjalts (pronounced ‘Angeles’) last year upon the release of her single “Air to Fire.” That track introduced readers of The Static Dive to an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist producer with a genre-bending sound. Inspired by her musical grandfather she began writing original songs at just 9 years old and made her recording debut in 2020 with the single “Remember You.”
Since that first track, Anjalts has followed with six more singles. A talented and prolific writer, her songs often comment on sociological and political issues of our day. On her latest single, the singer tackles our bizarre modern times head-on.
“Times We R Living” is the brand new single from Anjalts, released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 4, 2022. An acoustic guitar and ambient synths open the track. Soon the beat drops on a downtempo mix of analog and electronic drums and a slow rolling bass. The vocalist enters the mix, alternately singing and rapping a cryptic narrative of a young person’s struggle during a difficult time in history.
After growing up in an Information age, ‘Times We R Living ‘ resonates this dynamic synergy from a youthful voice just looking to move forward into an eco-sustainable future.
