
Ramya RamC is the professional name of vocalist Ramya Ramachandran. An undergraduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University, majoring in Western Vocal Music and Business Management, she made her professional solo recording debut in 2021 with the single “Yemi Teliyina.” The remarkably versatile vocalist can sing in English, French, Tamil,Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujurathi, Marathi, Spanish, and Italian.
An award-winning singer, she has earned trophies from New Zealand to India. Prior to embarking on her recording career, Ramya RamC spent three years learning Carnatic music under world renowned teacher Sri Delhi V Muthukumar and she studied Hindustani music from Ustad Ghulam Niyaz Ali Khan. She has contributed performances to film productions including the Singapore based short film “Aasai” and the Web Series “Oru Kal Oru Kannaadi.”
“Fallen in Love” is the sophomore single from Ramya RamC, released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 10, 2022. The track was penned by Sunitha Ananthaswamy, who is herself a celebrated World Music singer and composer from Michigan. Ambient synths introduce the track as Ramya enters the mix accompanied by an acoustic guitar.
Bass, drums and piano join the ensemble and the song slides into a cinematic Adult Contemporary Pop production. Ramya RamC delivers beautiful performance, easily navigating an impressive vocal range from a soft mezzo to an angelic soprano. Ethereal vocal harmonies and a Lo-fi beat add a dreamy feel to the song’s melodic chorus.
