Cloak The Scribe is the professional name of emerging Hip-hop artist, Greg James. He made his professional solo recording debut in 2016 with the single “Anthem 4 Life.” Born and raised in Chicago, the rapper says that growing up on the streets of his legendary hometown taught him everything he needed to know about life.
Everything I learned about being a solid individual, hard worker, hustler, strong-spirit, and even gangster to a point, came from growing up and living in Chicago.

Since his debut, the prolific emcee has produced a dozen singles and two full length albums. He has connected with Hip-hop fans around the world and scored some cross-platform successes with tracks like “Dice” and “Underdog.” In 2022 he began dropping a steady string of new singles that he dubbed the ‘Vent Sessions.’
“No Sleep” is the fourth track in the ‘Vent Sessions’ series. Released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 2, 2022. The track pairs Clock The Scribe’s classic, 90’s inspired flow with a funky and melodic groove produced by Marv4MoBeats. Strings, a laid-back Funk bass and a plucked harp ride a Latin-infused downtempo Lo-fi beat as James asserts his lyrical dominance and dedication to the grind.
