Aslan The Artist is an emerging rapper, singer and songwriter making his professional solo recording debut in 2022. This is the second time around for the up and coming Hip-hop artist from the small UK island of Wirral. He got his start in the early 2000’s, spending 5 years working the UK nightclub circuit. Unfortunately, mental and physical health problems derailed those plans.
In 2021 he was back and ready to take the mic. With a diverse list of musical influences that range from Jazz/Soul legend Sade to British Pop songsmith Gary Barlow, Aslan The Artist’s sound is a funky mix of Hip-hop, Pop and Reggaeton vibes. He matches dancefloor grooves with smart, inciteful lyrics and a melodic flow.
“Dead Man Walking” is the debut single from Aslan The Artist, released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 22, 2022. The track mixes elements of Trap, Glitch and Reggaeton for a dark mid-tempo Funk. A jazzy Lo-fi guitar rides that beat as Aslan the Artist delivers an introspective narrative of depression and uncertainty.
The song relates to time spent in a coma and then coming out of the coma and dealing with mental demons.
