Kaj Loud is the professional name of emerging singer, rapper and songwriter Kailon Johnson-Loud. A native of Vallejo, California, he made his debut in 2020 with the single “BASIC.” That track introduced a talented artist with a smooth lyrical flow, soulful lead vocals and a taste for hard Hip-hop beats.
The prolific rapper followed that hit with the full length album “1Up” and three singles. Citing the influence of genre-bending superstar artists like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Logic, Kaj Loud’s sound matches R&B soul with a Hip-hop groove and infectiously catchy Pop hooks.
“Shrimp n Noodles” is the brand new single from Kaj Loud, released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 25, 2022. As the track opens we hear piano, bass and synths lay down a smooth R&B vibe over an old-school Hip-hop beat. The song continues on that laid-back vibe as Kaj steps to the mic.
Alternately singing and rapping, he shares his past troubles and future plans with a potential new love. In the song’s video we see the singer seated with his friends in a restaurant. A beautiful young woman catches his eye as she walks into the room and the two share the fantasy of a romantic dinner of shrimp and noodles.
