Zosia is the professional name of singer, songwriter and producer Anneke Lada. The artist made her professional solo recording debut in 2017 with the single “Water.” That track introduced a multitalented musician and deeply soulful singer from Los Angeles who is creating dramatic Pop music with deep cinematic vibes.
A string of successful singles followed, leading up to her 2021 debut EP “Symptoms of Nature,” an existential reflection on the impermanence of life. Lyrically she searches for context and meaning in a chaotic world as well as deep within her own mind. A multi-disciplinary artist, she designs all of her own artwork. She even sews her own wardrobe, inspired by her seamstress grandmother (for whom the artist is named).
“Time is Running Out” is the brand new single from Zosia, released worldwide to all major streaming services on April 1, 2022. A new spin on the 2004 Muse classic, the song is a hypnotic Dark Pop meditation. Ambient synths, subtle percussive sub-rhythms and layers of vocal harmonies add to the hypnotic vibe of the track as the singer delivers an impassioned performance. She chose to cover the song as a commentary on climate change. To drive that point home she even included words from Greta Thunberg’s speech from the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit.
When I sing it, I imagine I’m addressing political leaders and climate change skeptics, urging them to recognize the severity of the climate crisis.
