Marysam’s Dreamy Take On a Timeless Hit

Marysam
Marysam

Marysam is an emerging singer and pianist who made her solo recording debut last year with her take on the religious holiday classic, “What Child is This.” That track introduced a unique talent with a sound that seems lifted from another time. With just her voice and piano the New York artist creates a lovely ethereal Dream Pop vibe.

The unexpected downtime of pandemic lockdowns first inspired Mary Sam to play music. Inspired by Pop and R&B stars like Laura Nyro, Regina Spektor and Bruce Hornsby and The Stylistics, she set out to record some of her favorite hits from the past. On her latest release, the singer turns the page to classic 60’s Pop.

“Jean” is the latest single from Mary Sam, released worldwide to all major streaming services on March 22, 2022. The original version of the song was produced for the 1969 movie The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. It was written by American poet and composer Rod McKuen and made famous by singer Oliver. With the help of producer Callibeats, Marysam lends her timeless voice and haunting piano to transform the song into something entirely new.

Check out “Jean” below. You can also hear the song on the Deep Indie Songwriters playlist, or listen on your favorite streaming service. Marysam already has a number of new releases planned for the coming months. Follow the links below to connect with the artist and get in the loop on all of her new music on the way.
