IamDerby is the professional name of rapper, singer, songwriter, engineer and producer Darius Eugene House. He made his professional solo recording debut in 2018 with his eponymous EP IamDerby. That record introduced a multi-talented artist from Portsmouth, Virginia who can slide easily between chilled Soul moods, Pop hooks and hard-hitting Hip-hop.
Since that first record, the prolific producer has delivered a half dozen singles, the 2020 EP Ride With Me and his debut full-length 2021 solo album A Pain So Beautiful. He has connected with fans worldwide across multiple platforms with tracks like “Secrets” and collabs like J’Nai collab “I Just Wanna Know.” He has shared the stage with superstars like Young Nudy and Lil Tracy, and his music has been licensed for film and TV productions.
“Worth It (Amie’s Interlude)” is the current single and video from A Pain So Beautiful. A chill guitar and bass mood opens the track. IamDerby steps to the mic with a smooth and soulful tale of Amie, a beautiful girl who is with a man who doesn’t deserve her.
