Destina is an emerging singer, rapper and songwriter who made her professional solo recording debut in January. Since then the prolific artist has dropped a steady string of monthly singles. Her music has already connected with tens of thousands fans around the world. Although she is new on the scene, the talented 25 year-old started making music in childhood.
An international talent, Destina was born and raised in Rotterdam, Netherlands to Turkish immigrant parents. The family struggled financially. Money trouble and cultural differences set the young artist apart from her peers. She committed herself academically in hopes of helping her family. Music, anime, video games and movies became her escape. Now the 25 year-old is sharing her creative work with the world.
“Outcast” is the debut single from Destina, released worldwide via all major streaming services on January 10, 2022. A melodic and melancholy electric guitar introduces the track before the beat drops on a downtempo Trap groove. Soon the rapper steps to the mic to tell the story of her difficult young life. In the chorus she softly sings the refrain, “Always an outcast from the start.” It’s a powerful message.
