Mr Jimah is an emerging UK-based Hip-hop artist who made his professional solo recording debut in 2020 with the single “Drawn Out.” That track introduced a skilled emcee and a multi-talented producer, singer and songwriter. His sound is a genre-fluid mix of Hip-hop, Afro-Pop and R&B. He writes deeply personal narratives and socially conscious rhymes intended to connect to listeners at a visceral level.
Born in Nigeria, he moved with his family to the London at the age of 10. Growing up, a young Jimah found an early fascination with music. He listened to a wide array of African and Western artists and was aware at an early age of music’s ability to bring people together regardless of gender, ethnicity, or upbringing. Though he would eventually move to Southampton, growing up in East London had a huge impact on the music Mr Jimah makes today.
