SAVARRE is a New York-based group led by singer, songwriter, composer, playwright and novelist, Shannon Denise Evans. Specializing in the genre Spectra Rock, they create dramatic and cinematic music. Evans’ raw and impassioned vocals give vibrant life to the music’s anthemic lyrics.
The group made their first splash in the streaming scene in 2020 with the single “Unbeautiful.” Since then, they have released a a few more singles. Tracks like “Art of the Bleed” and “Blood Under the Bridge” introduced a rich and emotionally layered sound featuring elements of Classic Rock, Trip-Hop and Art-Rock.
“Scars” is the latest single from SAVARRE, released worldwide to all major streaming services in January of this year. Ambient synths introduce the track as the singer steps to the mic with a dark narrative of past trauma. Evans is a soulful vocalist with a powerfully emotive voice and a remarkable range. She tells her tale in poetic and visual metaphors over a dark downtempo groove.
For me, the experiences that created my scars made me stronger, smarter, and more resilient. I wear my scars proudly now; they are markers on a path that led me back to myself.
