CAS MUSIC is the professional name of singer, songwriter and producer Chris Snyder. Together with lead guitarist Michael Edwards, the multi-talented musician has been entertaining audiences in southern California and beyond for the better part of the past two decades. Originally performing as Standing in Waves, the duo released their debut album Nezvanova in 2006. That record introduced a soulful guitar & vocal driven sound and a multifaceted songwriter.
Snyder followed in 2010 with the sophomore effort Hands on Display. That record connected with fans worldwide with tracks like “What About Love” and “Soldiers Sojourn.” Now after an extended hiatus from the studio, CAS MUSIC is back. Once again teaming up with Michael Edwards, Chris Snyder is working on his third album.
“Kingdom Run Wild” is the latest single and video from CAS Music’s forthcoming album “In Defense of Time.” The track opens on a soulful guitar and vocal intro as Chris steps to the mic with a heartbreaking tale of desperation and perseverance. He sings of a world gone mad as the ensemble expands to include bass, drums and keys. The set settles into a mellow and bluesy Americana groove.
The song is paired with a striking and powerful video. Through the verse the film features scenes of war, political strife and the violent, disgusting reality manifested by political maneuvers made without regard for human life. The images are difficult, but necessary. The film changes to scenes of peaceful protest as Chris sings “This life is hard, but it still isn’t over,” in a chorus that begs for an arena full of fans to sing along.
