Les Canines is the professional name of emerging independent recording artist André Araujo. He made his debut in 2020 with the four song EP Terrace Garden. That record introduced a diversely talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a unique lo-fi retro sound. Born in Venezuela and now based in Illinois, the prolific bedroom producer writes, records and performs his music entirely on his own.
In October of 2020 he followed that debut with the six-song collection Have You Seen This Dog? released worldwide to all major streaming services. Citing experimental electronic and Alternative artists like Nine Inch Nails, MGMT, Aphrodite’s Child, and Beach House he creates a distinct electronic sound built on classic synths and an Indie-Rock aesthetic. Classic Electro-Pop and Synthwave vibes ride low-fi grooves as 8-bit chiptune melodies paint the edges of the mix.
“Theorizer” is the current single and opening track from Have You Seen This Dog? A pulsing sawtooth synth bass rides a driving drum machine beat as melodic analog synths create an ethereal vibe. André steps to the mic with a cryptic tale of love and uncertainty.
